Essential Properties

The EMFIMASTIC PU 25 BUILDING is a one-component polyurethane-based sealant characterized by exceptional elasticity and increased tear resistance. Its formulation provides remarkable weather resistance. The product holds SNJF certification for anodized aluminum and mortar in class 25E.

Application Areas

This product is used for bonded assembly of construction materials and the creation of watertight joints. It offers optimal adhesion without primer on most common substrates: wood, aluminum, lacquered metal, polyester, glass, PVC, concrete, terracotta, natural stone, ceramic tiles, and glazed tiles.

Surface Preparation

Surfaces must be flat, perfectly dry, and free of dust, grease, or any contaminants. Cleaning is done with EMFINET 683, methyl ethyl ketone (MEK), acetone, or SAPOCOL GR 1001 degreaser, after checking solvent compatibility. Sanded metal surfaces require additional cleaning. Complete drying after degreasing is imperative. For concrete, wire brushing is recommended. Primer application may be necessary depending on the case. When using solvents, eliminate all ignition sources and follow the supplier's safety instructions.

Application

Application is done using a manual or pneumatic gun. Joint smoothing is performed with soapy water using a spatula. Open cartridges or pouches must be used within 24 hours to prevent hardening. In cold periods, keep the sealant at room temperature (20 °C) before use. During curing, avoid contact with MS polymers, hybrid polyurethanes, or uncured silicones, as well as alcohols and ammonia. Tools are cleaned with EMFINET 683, methyl ethyl ketone, or acetone while the sealant has not cured. Once cured, only sanding can remove residues.
